Medical and Surgical Tradeshows in Europe: What's New?

Virtual Tradeshows in Health?  Could we do without them?  The logistics of international surgical and medical congresses is a nightmare (time and money consuming) ... Ever seen a cardiac surgeon's schedule?  Physicians who participate in numerous congresses have to juggle multiple roles ... One moment, they are operating on a patient;  the next moment, they have to rush to the airport, still trying to answer their mails or sending instructions to their secretary in the process, and working on their PPT presentation for the congress ... They certainly consider these virtual tradeshows a blessing ... They can follow up on Big Pharma's latest developments from their hospital or clinic office, they can interact, exchange business cards ... and forget about the hotel and plane and schedule logistics - and money ... They can update and share their cutting edge practices, get the latest info from major biotechs' activity ... What's not to like about it? Our surgeons and doctors need continuing and international education ... Virtual tradeshows help capturing and acting on real-time patient feedback. Capturing patient experience data is crucial. To meet the challenge of increasingly personalised medicine, anticipating new drug administration and action modes is a major stake. I'm not sure a tradeshow dinosaur business model is the best way to meet these basic requirements ... For the time being, the very first 3D virtual tradeshow to take place in France will address the (un)employment issue (Monster). I'm confident medical and surgical virtual tradeshows will develop in Europe, in 3D. What do you think?
