Later, following explanation for this "misunderstanding" was found:

When Angèle fell in a coma, her brain cells connections changed dramatically: she could hear, feel the pain (though nurses and doctors thought that because she was in such a coma she couldn't feel any pain at all, but she proved them otherwise later...), she could also understand what people around her were saying... Only, she couldn't... make herself noticed.

Later, she recovered from this kind of "locked-in syndrom"... and told her story to a journalist... who wrote a book...
