Welcome to the digital era of biology (and to this modest blog I started in early 2005).

To cure many diseases, like cancer or cystic fibrosis, we will need to target genes (mutations, for ex.), not organs! I am convinced that the future of replacement medicine (organ transplant) is genomics (the science of the human genome). In 10 years we will be replacing (modifying) genes; not organs!

Ce matin petite discussion avec les ADOT sur leur histoire de gâchis. Je relaie le fait que les chirurgiens n'aiment pas cette pub "le gâchis" (cela donne l'image qu'ils vont maltraiter le corps du "donneur", ne pas le traiter en humain). Ils me répondent : "Euh mais le donneur c'est un légume." Gâchis, légume... Avec ADOT je doute ...

Catherine vous connaissez mon point de vue sur les ADOT... Ils sont capables du pire mais certainement pas du meilleur pour parler du don d'organes !

@ Marie : le Pr. Bernard Debré pense la même chose, ainsi que les chirurgiens dans ma famille. Leur slogan est un brin trop racoleur : "mourez, on s'occupe du reste !"
