Patients en attente de greffe de rein, médecins néphrologues, chirurgiens transplanteurs, simple curieux qui passez par là, regardez la "conférence TED 2011" (mars 2011, Californie) : vous allez y voir un jeune patient sauvé par une ... greffe d'un morceau de sa propre vessie (on lui a prélevé un bout de sa vessie, de la taille d'un demi timbre-poste), cultivée avec ses propres cellules ... pour en faire un rein ... qu'on lui a ensuite greffé ! Dix ans après, ce patient vient témoigner : pas de médicaments anti-rejet et ses redoutables effets secondaires, pas de dialyse (personne n'est heureux en dialyse) ... cela marche ! On comprend les 10 mn d'applaudissement lors de cette présentation, suite au témoignage de ce patient, jeune homme en très bonne santé alors qu'à 10 ans, très affaibli, il se demandait comment échapper à la dialyse à vie ! ...

Le jeune homme ne reçoit pas un rein mais une vessie issue de la bioingeniérie. Il est possible qu'un jour le système fonctionne pour créer des reins mais nous sommes encore loin de savoir le faire.
Il n'est pas très honnête dans votre texte de parler d'alternative à la transplantation rénale qui fonctionne. c'est une piste de recherche. Actuellement en europe un groupe est financé par l'union européenne pour tenter de faire ce genre de chose.

@ Stéphane : la vessie c'était pour un malade qui souffrait bel et bien d'insuffisance rénale sévère ... Le malade (qui ne l'est plus) a échappé à la dialyse. Question : pourquoi cette méthode n'est-elle pas implémentée en France ? Au moins pour les "Spina bifida" ? ... Quel est le groupe financé en Europe pour faire "avancer de genre de chose" ? ...
