Voici un dialogue fictif entre Jacques Attali et le médecin député Jean Leonetti, principal auteur de la loi sur les droits des malades en fin de vie (avril 2005). Ce dialogue, sous forme de pièce de théâtre dont voici le prologue et le premier acte, a pour thème l'avenir (acte I), le passé (acte II) et le présent (acte III). Quelle bioéthique française, dans quel contexte économique et sociétal mondial ? La question est d'actualité, puisque les lois bioéthiques en vigueur et datant de 2004 seront "mises à jour" au printemps 2010. Le Dr. Jean Leonetti est le rapporteur de la mission sur la bioéthique et il a présidé les Etats Généraux de la bioéthique.
La lecture de deux ouvrages, "Une brève histoire de l'avenir", de Jacques Attali (Fayard, 2006) et "Quand la science transformera l'humain. 20 scénarios pour demain" (Plon, janvier 2010), du Dr. Jean Leonetti, a inspiré ces dialogues fictifs, dans lesquels les propos des deux auteurs sont directement transposés.
