Welcome to the digital era of biology (and to this modest blog I started in early 2005).

To cure many diseases, like cancer or cystic fibrosis, we will need to target genes (mutations, for ex.), not organs! I am convinced that the future of replacement medicine (organ transplant) is genomics (the science of the human genome). In 10 years we will be replacing (modifying) genes; not organs!

Droit de réponse à l'occasion de la publication d'un livre grand public intitulé "Les Effets du don"

Sur recommandation du Dr. Jacques Lucas, vice président du CNOM, je souhaite informer les acteurs des transplantations d'organes (personnels de santé en hôpital, institutions) de la parution prochaine d'un livre grand public (éditeur grand public) intitulé "Les Effets du don d'organes".

Ce livre présentera une série de témoignages de proches confrontés à la question du don d'organes - témoignages recueillis entre mars 2005 et mars 2011 -, ainsi qu'une enquête de terrain sur la "mort encéphalique" et les "prélèvements à coeur arrêté".

L'éditeur souhaite donner un droit de réponse aux institutionnels et aux acteurs des transplantations avant la publication du livre. Une réunion "droit de réponse" sera donc organisée en avril 2011 (date à définir). Si vous souhaitez y participer, merci de m'en informer en m'écrivant à l'adresse :
