Welcome to the digital era of biology (and to this modest blog I started in early 2005).

To cure many diseases, like cancer or cystic fibrosis, we will need to target genes (mutations, for ex.), not organs! I am convinced that the future of replacement medicine (organ transplant) is genomics (the science of the human genome). In 10 years we will be replacing (modifying) genes; not organs!

Télémédecine : l'Internet à très haut débit s'installe ...

France Télécom (Orange) et Bouygues Télécom se sont fait "griller le cul" par Free, question prix des forfaits en téléphonie mobile (internet, téléphone, SMS) ... Ils ont beau baisser le prix de leurs abonnements pour tenter de faire semblant de s'aligner sur les prix de Free, c'est raté ... Les clients-pigeons se disent qu'ils s'en sont mis plein les fouilles pendant tout ce temps (avant l'arrivée de Super Free) ... et sont un brin scandalisés ... Que reste-t-il à Orange, Bouygues Telecom et SFR ? L'internet à très haut débit en France ... qui tarde à arriver ... L'internet à très haut débit, cela s'appelle la fibre optique ... Free ne veut pas s'y coller car il a autre chose à faire ... Du coup Orange et Bouygues s'engouffrent dans le créneau (bientôt suivis par SFR ?) Cet été Marie Berry (sœur de l'acteur Richard Berry) me disait qu'elle avait testé l'Internet à très haut débit chez son frère. Cela va à une vitesse foudroyante ... mais pour le faire installer, cela coûte encore une fortune ... Les travaux à venir, avec Orange et Bouygues qui vont s'y coller, sont donc les bienvenus ... On ose espérer que les prix seront corrects (pigeons échaudés craignent l'eau froide) ... Fibrer le pays, voilà qui va permettre à la télémédecine (l'alliance de la médecine et du numérique) de décoller ... car pour le moment, on constate toujours un léger retard à l'allumage (si si) ...
