Welcome to the digital era of biology (and to this modest blog I started in early 2005).

To cure many diseases, like cancer or cystic fibrosis, we will need to target genes (mutations, for ex.), not organs! I am convinced that the future of replacement medicine (organ transplant) is genomics (the science of the human genome). In 10 years we will be replacing (modifying) genes; not organs!

A l'heure où dans le monde entier la théorie scientifique de la mort comme pouvant être définie comme la mort du cerveau ("mort encéphalique" ou "mort cérébrale") se trouve de plus en plus invalidée, comment promouvoir le don d'organes dit "post-mortem" (après la mort) en attendant d'autres solutions (organes artificiels imprimés en 3D, médecine régénératrice, "cœur artificiel" si cela marche)? ... L'activité électrique du cerveau au moment du décès est prouvée ... Ledit décès n'est d'ailleurs pas un bouton "on/off" comme celui qu'on utilise pour éteindre la lumière ou allumer la radio, mais un processus ... Quand intervenir dans ce processus pour prélever des organes "vivants" (sur un "mort") ... Le don d'organes pendant votre mort ... On dirait un bon sujet pour un prochain "Tim Burton", non ?
